About Forest ClubForest Club is an exciting initiative by AERF to allow city dwellers to keep in touch with Mother Nature. The ventur aims to educate the members about the challenges faced by the environment, and virgin forests in bio diversity hotsspots in particular, about the sever consequences faced due to environmental degradation.Activities of the ClubThe Club aims to achieve its goals by using a number of tools.Members get a discount for the flagship event of the Club-a forest trek through the sylvan and verdant evergreen forests of the Western Ghats during the Monsoons. The trek will be conducated by trained AREF members who will educate the club members about the flora and fauna in the nature reserve. Members also get the prospect of receiving the newsletter of AERF, Sakav, delivered to their doorstep.The newsletter contains a diverse mixture of articles regarding the conservation methods followed by AERF, exciting new projects undertaken, the interactions of the locals in Kokan with their environment and how their beliefs have been shaped by nature and much more. These articles are contributed by the AERF staff and the field researchers involved which gives the reader a bird's eye view of the contemporary issues faced.
