General Questions

Where are My Forest products sourced from?

All our products are sustainably harvested from the Western Ghats region in India—one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots. We work directly with forest-dependent rural and tribal communities to ensure ethical sourcing and further legitimize our process through national and international sustainability certifications which infuse accountability into the system through strict and stringent standards and yearly audits.

What makes My Forest different from other eco brands?

We don’t just talk sustainability—we live it. Every product we offer is backed by conservation stories, global certifications  and direct engagement with local forest communities. Every product is linked to forest and biodiversity conservation. This is possible through our association with a 30 year old conservation NGO - AERF wherein, together  we create sustainable value from standing forests to make conservation economically beneficial to the forest-dependent communities.

Are all products certified?

Some ofo our products carry internationally and nationally recognised certifications such as FairWild, India Organic, and USDA Organic (as applicable). These assure that the sourcing, harvesting, and processing meet strict ecological and ethical standards. While other products like the honey or Karanj and Mahua oils may not be certified, they have strong links to forests and communities as seen from the conservation stories behind them.

Are the ingredients really forest-foraged?

Yes, all of our hero ingredients—such as Haritaki, Bibhitaki, Mahua, and wild honey—are foraged using traditional knowledge by rural and  tribal collectors from forests in Maharashtra. These practices are carefully managed to protect forest health and biodiversity using certifications and conservation strategies. For instance, the FairWild standards make it mandatory to harvest only 70% of the available resource so as to assist natural regeneration, provide for the animals dependent on the resource for food and stop overharvesting. This ensures holistic wellbeing of the ecosystem around that product

Can I trust the origin and purity?

Absolutely.  Accountability is ingrained into every process along the way. We do not use words like ‘organic’ and ‘sustainable’ casually, but rather look at them as a regulated term - hence the certifications to back our claims. We trace every product back to its origin, maintain full transparency in our sourcing, and use minimal processing to preserve natural integrity. We also test for purity to ensure no adulteration.

Product Usage

How should I store the oils and powders?

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use airtight containers to preserve freshness, especially in humid climates.

Are these suitable for children?

Our products are natural and free from harmful additives. However, we recommend consulting a paediatrician before giving herbal powders or oils to young children.

Do the products have expiry dates?

Yes, all products come with a clearly marked expiry date. We follow FSSAI and organic labelling guidelines to ensure safety and compliance.

Can the honey crystallise over time?

Yes, raw honey naturally crystallises, especially in colder weather. This is a sign of purity and does not affect its quality. You can warm the jar slightly in a bowl of warm water to re-liquefy it.

Is there a difference between forest turmeric and regular turmeric?

Yes. Our turmeric is high-curcumin and grown using sustainable practices in forest-fringe areas. Unlike regular turmeric, it has greater potency and supports conservation by preventing forest land from being sold to loggers.
